Luxury Accommodation Muckleneuk Pretoria

Situated at the top of Muckleneuk Hill, at the end of a cul-de-sac and adjacent to a nature area, our B&B offers a central location with spectacular views, convenient for both the leisure and business traveler.

Your hosts, Mark and Jill Theron, offer three spacious double en-suite bedrooms with DSTV. Two rooms and the comfortable sitting room for the exclusive use of guests open out onto a wide verandah overlooking the city. The third room has access to the verandah through the guests' sitting room. There is secure parking on the property for three cars. Wi-Fi is available for guests.

We are close to UNISA, SABS, the Zuid-Afrikaans Hospital, the Jakaranda Hospital and the Little Company of Mary Hospital. The University of Pretoria's Groenkloof campus and Crawford College and Preparatory School are even closer. Loftus Versfeld Stadium is down the hill. Groenkloof Shopping Centre is a ten minute walk away. Brooklyn and Hatfield malls are within easy access by car.

The tariff includes a hearty breakfast. There is a wide variety of restaurants in the vicinity and a take-out home delivery service is available.

Our Area

Although we are situated close to Brooklyn and Hatfield and not far from the old city centre, Legodimong is tucked away in a quiet area and you will feel far removed from the bustle of the city. As you approach Legodimong, you will pass between a few houses and a pristine nature area, Kruin Park, a narrow strip of land between Kruin Street and Lukas Street, extending a short distance to the east and to the west of Legodimong, the last house in Kruin Street.

Kruin Park is part of the oldest nature reserve in South Africa, the 115-year old Groenkloof Nature Reserve, which was proclaimed in 1895 by the President of the Zuid-Afrikaanse Republiek, Paul Kruger.

Being next to a nature area, while you are here you will be able to see a rich variety of birds and the occasional small mammal. Bushbabies nest in the area and often as it grows dark, one sees them jumping from tree to tree. If you are lucky you may see the Slender Mongoose or hear the call of the Spotted Eagle-Owl, the Freckled Nightjar or even the Fiery-necked Nightjar.

When you arrive and relax in your room, or on the verandah or the terrace lawn, you will notice that Legodimong is situated right at the top of Muckleneuk Ridge. You will look straight down over Sunnyside and Arcadia to the Union Buildings. Looking slightly to the right you will see Loftus Versfeld Stadium and Hatfield and looking slightly to the left of the Union Buildings the view is of the city centre, the Daspoort Hills, the Magaliesberg range and a small part of the Pyramid Hills beyond the northern suburbs.

Away to your left you will see the Daspoort Hills stretching beyond the city and much of the Magaliesberg towards Hartebeestpoort Dam. On a clear day you will be able to see the Hills west of Pelindaba. You will also see the Telkom Tower, which is a brightly-lit blue beacon at night and a familiar landmark visible from a long way off.
